Some test pictures from the Sigma Apo DG 70-300mm 1:4-5.6, and the Canon F4 70-200mm
From my tests, the Canon will go as far as F32 while the Sigma goes as far as F22
Sigma tests below, F18 then F22 at iso 6400, focus on the Lion's face.
Below l purposely chose a spot with not an ideal over bright light setup.
I also used a tripod with 10 seconds timer delay to take each of the pictures.
